Information you choose to submit

• General updates: your email address and consent to receive updates. This signup is separate from student pre-registration.
• Student pre-registration: your name, email, contact preferences, school and location, graduation year, ZIP code, and the contact, address, college, program, activity, and future-feature interests you provide.
• Resource downloads: your name and email, plus school information for counselors or organization information for community partners. Verified requests are recorded as resource-access contacts.
• Contact messages: your name, email, optional mobile number, selected topic, message, and communication preferences.
• Future-feature feedback: your response, optional comment, and the page from which you submit it.

Do not include Social Security numbers, passwords, tax documents, bank account details, or other sensitive records in our forms or messages.

How information is used

We use submitted information to verify email addresses, provide access to resources, record interests and feedback, respond to inquiries, send requested updates, and protect forms against abuse. Contact messages may also be sent by email to the team. Pre-registration does not send an application to a college. Mobile numbers and text preferences may be collected, but text messaging is not currently connected.

Service providers and external searches

The site uses Lovable Cloud for hosting, stored submissions, and staff sign-in, and email services to deliver verification and other site emails. These services process information needed to perform those tasks. High school search sends the entered search text and location to public NCES school-data services. Avoid entering personal information into the school search box.

Browser storage and technical information

Browser storage remembers resource-download access for 30 days, whether the lanyard popup has been shown during a session, and staff sign-in sessions. Clearing browser storage removes those remembered states. The site and its hosting services may process technical information such as requests, IP addresses, and error reports to operate and protect the service. The general-updates form uses a hashed network-address fingerprint for abuse prevention.

HBCU Net Price Guide

Income-range and residency selections stay in the current browser tab. The guide does not store or log these inputs, send them to a server, or track calculator clicks. Only the selected school name may appear in the page address. Opening a school's calculator takes you to a different site; information you enter there is governed by that site's privacy notice. This limited no-storage statement does not apply to our signup, verification, contact, or feedback forms.

Retention and safeguards

Submitted forms are stored; email-code expiry is not the same as deletion of a submission. Verification codes expire after 10 minutes and are stored as hashes rather than readable codes. Access to stored submissions is restricted to authorized services and staff. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We do not promise a fixed automatic deletion schedule in this notice.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may browse public guidance without submitting a signup form. You can unsubscribe from update emails using an available unsubscribe option or request that we stop sending updates through our contact page. Use that page to request access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted, or to ask a privacy question. We may need to verify your identity before acting; legal and security requirements may affect what can be deleted.

Children under 13 should not submit personal information through these forms. A parent or guardian can contact us about information a child may have submitted.
